We are happy to announce that Hayden Carpentry Ltd is back open for business. We are now helping people who are working from home to change bedrooms and other place in their house into multi- functional rooms. So like a spare bedroom they don't lose the bedroom but they can use it as a home office. We can help you with the design of the room to maximize the room to your requirements. Here is an example of a bedroom we have done.

Dear Client,
We have made the decision for the best of our clients and work force to stop all works unless it is an essential works like leaks, heating or security. We have made this decision to safeguard everyone and the business so we can still work for our clients when things start to go back to normal. We can still take any enquiries and give advice over the phone or email but site visits will be done at a later date. Please keep safe and well.

Kind regards
Gary Hayden

It is in the news today the new apprenticeships have fallen by 60% due to the apprenticeship levy. I may have a solution to this. Please read in full and like or share if you think this could possibly work. This is a theory I have so please comment.

My theory comes from been an apprentice, teaching apprentices in a college to wanting to take on apprentices. If the government made apprentices tax deductible and the company pay for all their needs. So for example the college can pull down their funding and if there is a short fall the company pays the different, and claim it back. Which they can do now but that is the only thing you can claim for. I don’t know if you are aware in construction a first year apprentice will cost a company around £20 to £25k for that year. So over a three year apprenticeship that one person will cost the company around £70k+, with all the risk with the company. Because the person can leave the company after they have finished their apprenticeship. This is why a lot of company haven’t been doing apprenticeship for years. To safeguard the apprentice companies will only allowed to have a fixed amount of apprentices to the sizes of their company. E.g. companies which turnover between £100 to £200k can only take on one apprentice a year, on the other side a large company like Rolls Royce could take on 1000 apprentices. It has been said that SME's are the backbone of the county and this would give them the incentive to take on apprentices. This could be good for all parties, apprentice, colleges, companies in all sectors and the government.

If you think this is a good idea please like or share.

thank you for your time.

We were recommended to a new client where the contractor had done work, taken money and then disappeared and left the person with an unfinished job. We have gone in to see what has been done and this is our findings which can kill. My tip to you is if you are thinking of having work done please use a recommended tradesman, recommended by a friend or family. Check out there past projects and ask to speak to there past client as references. Ask to see insurances and qualifications to carry out the work. Ask for a itemized estimate. If you do not do this it may cost you more in the long run. My client has let me do this so other people don't do the same thing. ... See MoreSee Less
